Fixed & Semi portable data solutions
For most companies or organizations which need internet connections for multiple staff or dedicated full time links, a technology call VSAT is used. VSAT stands for “Very Small Aperture Terminal” and refers to the terminal which is installed or is mounted to a pallet or larger vehicle. Most VSAT solutions installed in Australia will use a dish which is 1.2 meters wide and needs to be either mounted on a roof, the side of a building or ground mounted. The installation of the dish requires special equipment and training to be aligned in the right direction. If the customer wants to use the equipment in different location however needs the speed of VSAT, an auto aligning dish can be purchased or rented. An Auto dish normally comes on a pallet sized stand however will require a power sauce. Setting up an auto align dish is extremely easy and in most cases the user can be online, within a few minutes or supply power to the device. Fixed VSAT equipment is priced from $3000-$6000 depending on location and Auto dish devices range from $30,000-$50,000 for an outright purchase. Ultra-compact comms-on-the-move terminal for Inmarsat BGAN and BGAN M2M.
The one piece design enables the unit to be easily installed and operator, providing built in wi-fi and allowing up to 11 devices to be connected at any one time. The Cobham Explorer 7120 mounts on a steal rugged Skid provides a portable easy to setup VSAT solution for either buying or hiring.
The ClientSAT portable VSAT Skid solution comes standard with built in Wi-Fi and an automatic satellite finder. Once configured and setup, you will have high speed satellite internet for your staff anywhere in Australia. Designed to be moved regularly, the Skid option is perfect for operations which might need to move every 8-10 weeks.
Setup:
Before hiring the terminal, a communications box is supplied for the electronics equipment. Best to install in the office building closest to where the terminal will be placed.
Once the cage is removed, the terminal only needs connected to 3 cables coming from the indoor equipment.
Communications indoor equipment uses standard 240 volts power.
Once connected your dish will automatically lock onto the predefined satellite and provide satellite internet with in 5 mins of powering up the Satellite Internet Equipment.
