Making calls to this satellite phone - BEWARE!!
Making calls to these phones is very expensive. As much as $20 per minute!
If you want people to contact your satellite phone, we suggest that they send you a free SMS from our website as this places the message into the satellite phone network, bypassing our local carriers.
Texting from a mobile phone to a satellite phone is not guaranteed.

Sending a SMS / text message or calls to the Inmarsat network should be dialled using the following protocol from within Australia:
Dial 0011 (to get out of the Australian network and into the International network)
Then dial the Inmarsat voice phone number
EXAMPLE: If a friend from within Australia wants to call or text you, they dial 00118707xxxxxxxx The 00 can be substituted with the + symbol. This is achieved by holding down the 0 key for a second or two.
A cheaper alternative is for people to send you a free text message and then you call them back.

Phone numbers starting with 8816 only
Sending a SMS / text message or calls to the IRIDIUM network should be dialled using the following protocol from within Australia:
Dial 0011 (to get out of the Australian network and into the International network)
Then dial the the Iridium voice phone number
EXAMPLE: If a friend from within Australia wants to call or text you, they dial 00118816xxxxxxxx The 00 can be substituted with the + symbol. This is achieved by holding down the 0 key for a second or two.

The message centre number in the settings of your satellite phone should be 00881662900005 or +881662900005.
SMS or CALLS to IRIDIUM
Phone numbers starting with 04XX only
Sending a SMS / text message or calls to the IRIDIUM network should be dialled using the same method as calling / sending a text to a mobile phone. No country codes are needed.
The message centre number in the settings of your satellite phone should be +61 415 011 740.
